About

Hello and welcome! This blog is mainly to share my experiences training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ).  Posts will likely be all over the place (aren’t we all when it comes to BJJ?) but will likely focus on the following: BJJ techniques for smaller people, productivity, mindfulness, gear reviews, competition, and food talk.

As a small female BJJ player (152 cm, ~50kg), there have been plenty of frustrations and struggles.  Thankfully, I have had instructors and teammates who continue to show me that the power of BJJ is not in size or strength, but the respectful relationships we maintain with each other while learning together.

I hope that these stories about the ups, downs and in-betweens of a small girl rolling with “the big boys” can help others training BJJ.

Feel free to share with full credit any post on this blog and to chime in respectfully in the comments with your own learning and experiences.

Best way to contact me will I can be contacted through email or by just leaving a comment on one of my posts.

Thanks for stopping by!
JB

I am curious if you please on competing at Worlds this year as there is a 107lb weight class.

Hi Rebecca! The addition of the 107lb weight class was pretty exciting. If you’re asking if I’m planning on competing, unfortunately, I’m currently taking a break from training due to an injury. Are you competing?
